A Roseburg man was jailed on burglary and other charges early Sunday morning.
Information from the Roseburg Police said at 12:30 a.m. officers responded to a burglary in which electronic equipment had reportedly been stolen, from the 600 block of Southeast Jackson downtown. The report said 31-year old Christopher Denny was developed as a suspect which led officers to a residence where they contacted a 28-year old woman.
Denny was returning to the residence but took off running when he saw police. The man jumped a fence but was caught after a brief chase. Almost all the stolen property was recovered according to the report. Denny was detained on 14 charges including first degree counts of burglary and theft, for computer crime, identity theft, and for second degree counts of fraudulent use of a credit card. Denny was detained without bail. After being placed in jail, the man was developed as a suspect in a separate motor vehicle case. Charges of unlawful entry into a vehicle and third-degree criminal mischief were added.
The woman at the home was held for a warrant and for parole violation.
