A new exhibit titled, “We’ve Come a Long Way…Douglas County 1860-1910” is now open at the Douglas County Museum.
A release said the new exhibit showcases artifacts and items from early pioneer life in the county, depicting life in a one room classroom, early medical instruments, and a pioneer kitchen.
The classroom includes a wood burning stove from the Lone Rock school in Glide. The dental and medical tools were donated by local medical professionals and are from the late 1800s to the early 1900’s. The kitchen includes a large cast iron wood stove.
The museum is open Tuesdays through Saturdays from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Admission is $8 for adults, $5 for seniors over age 55 and military personnel, and $2 for children ages 5-17.
