TIME CHANGE IS THIS WEEKEND

October 30, 2019 9:45 a.m.
Oregon is getting ready to “fall back” to standard time this weekend.
At 2:00 a.m. Sunday clocks will move back one hour as daylight saving times ends for the year.
First suggested by Benjamin Franklin in 1784, daylight saving time didn’t officially begin in the United States until 1916, when the Summer Time Act was passed.
In June of this year, the Oregon State Legislature moved to make Daylight Saving time permanent. That legislation was signed by Governor Kate Brown. It will only take affect if other west coast states follow suit and Congress signs off. Washington’s Governor has already signed a similar measure, and the idea is under consideration in California.
