SEMI-TRUCK GOES OFF FREEWAY AND WRECKS

A semi-truck went off Interstate Five in a single vehicle wreck on Sunday afternoon.
Information from the Oregon State Police said at about 3:10 p.m. the driver was southbound, about two miles north of the Scotts Valley and Elkhead area. The driver told a trooper that a car cut him off so he had to go onto the shoulder, which caused him to enter a field impacting Oregon Department of Transportation fencing, and then to cross a ditch. The report said the truck was damaged by the fencing, and its axles were damaged as well.
The vehicle had to be towed from the scene. An ODOT crew responded to fix the fence.
