A Drain man was hurt in a vehicle versus pedestrian collision on Sunday morning.
Information from the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office said just before 8:00 a.m. a 65-year-old woman from Elma, Washington was waiting in line for gasoline at a station in the Rice Hill area. The report said the driver got out of vehicle and apparently failed to place it in park. The vehicle traveled forward hitting a station attendant. The vehicle stopped after hitting the rear of another vehicle, and partially dragged the driver who was trying to stop the van.
The report said there was no damage to the vehicle which was it, and it left the scene before a deputy arrived. Both the driver who caused the accident and the attendant were checked for minor injuries. The attendant, a 53-year-old man, went to the hospital on his own.
