A truck driver from Riddle was injured when the semi-truck and trailer he was driving left Interstate Five and crashed into a parked vehicle north of Salem early Wednesday morning.
A report from Oregon State Police said troopers and emergency personnel responded at 4:15 a.m. to the report of a two-vehicle wreck near Gervais. A preliminary investigation revealed that the semi, operated by 57-year old Carl Bibow, was northbound when for unknown reasons it moved onto the shoulder where it crashed into an SUV.
The SUV’s driver, 33-year old J. Ivan Aguilar-Dimas of California, was taken by air ambulance to Salem hospital with critical injuries. Bibow’s injuries were reported to be minor.
Oregon State Police are continuing to investigate the wreck.
