A woman was hurt in an unusual accident on Interstate Five Sunday afternoon.
A report from Oregon State Police said just after 2:30 p.m. a sedan was headed southbound near the Scotts Valley exit when a large piece of truck tire was kicked up from the roadway by a pickup traveling ahead of it. The report said the tire impacted the passenger side window, causing glass shards to enter the interior and become lodged in the passenger’s face and eyes. Medical staff responded to treat the 48-year old woman on the scene.
