PUBLIC HEARING ON PIPELINE APPLICATION THURSDAY NIGHT

October 3, 2019 3:45 a.m.
A public hearing for a request for a Conditional Use Permit for a proposed natural gas pipeline to go through a portion of Douglas County will go in front of a hearings officer Thursday night.
Pembina Pipeline is a Canadian company that wants to build a 229-mile pipeline across southern Oregon. The proposed route would go from Malin in Klamath County to the proposed Jordan Cove export terminal in Coos Bay. That route includes a 7.5 mile stretch within the Coastal Zone Management Area of Douglas County, which is in the Camas Valley area. That section of land is under the County’s authority when it comes to signing off on a permit.
The hearing will begin at 6:00 p.m. in room 216 of the courthouse.
