ROSEBURG WATER SYMPOSIUM COMING SEPTEMBER 27TH

The Wilderness Committee of Umpqua Watersheds and the Douglas County Global Warming Coalition will present the Roseburg Water Symposium: “Protecting the Headwaters in an Extreme Climate” on September 27th at the Roseburg Public Library.
A release from the groups said that water is essential to all life, and “is rapidly becoming a critical, life threatening environmental and social issue around the world”. The evening will include information about the state of southern Oregon water now, and in the future.
Presentations will be given by Jason Dunham, PhD, and Research Aquatic Ecologist for the U.S. Geological Survey Forest and Rangeland Ecosystem Science Center and by Joseph Blanchard, Watersheds Program Manager for the Umpqua National Forest.
A question and answer period will follow the presentations. The event will run from 6:00 pm. to 9:00 p.m. For more information go to www.umpquawatersheds.org.
