SHERIFF HANLIN FILES FOR RE-ELECTION

Douglas County Sheriff John Hanlin said he has officially filed with the Douglas County Clerks Office to run for re-election in the May 2020 primary.
In a release sent to News Radio 1240 KQEN on Monday, Hanlin said he is “grateful for the many years of support Douglas County residents have given me and my office, and I would be greatly honored to be allowed to serve another term”. If re-elected it would be his 4th term in office.
Hanlin called his 30 years serving with the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office a “tremendous honor” and said the past 12 years as Sheriff has been “even more remarkable”.
The release said that with continually declining revenue streams that support the Sheriff’s Office, working closely with the County Commissioners and other community leaders to secure adequate and stable funding for public safety services “will be a priority over the next several years”.
