The Up2UsNow Child Abuse Prevention Coalition will present the Challenge of the Heroes event this Thursday September 19th.
A release from Mercy Medical Center said the event is an opportunity for residents to thank local heroes from the National Guard, law enforcement, fire fighters, EMTs and veterans, for all they do while benefiting a great cause.
Community heroes will volunteer their time as wait staff, challenging each other to earn the most tips for the community violence prevention initiative that is supporting Up2UsNow Child Abuse Prevention projects and human trafficking efforts.
Local heroes will serve at Loggers Tap House, Splitz Family Grill, Brix, and Alexander’s Greek Cuisine in Roseburg. They will also be helping at Dakota Street Pizza and Nellies Deli in Sutherlin, Carlos’ Restaurante in Winston, Pizza Palace in Myrtle Creek, Old Sportsman in Riddle, and the Mid-Town Grill in Tri-City.
The event will run from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Those unable to attend can make a donation at www.mercygive.org.
