36TH ANNUAL UMPQUA RIVER CLEAN-UP DAY HAPPENING SOON

September 16, 2019 3:35 a.m.
Umpqua Watersheds is holding the 36th annual Umpqua River Clean-Up Day on Saturday September 28th.
The Restoration Committee of the group is seeking volunteers to help clean up the shores of the Umpqua River from the headwaters to the sea. The release from the group said there is a lot of trash that needs to be cleaned up before the high water comes.
Those attending should bring water to drink, rain gear, and should wear sturdy shoes. Umpqua Watersheds will supply gloves, trash bags and trash grabbers. The event will run from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. People wanting to help can contact a coordinator in their area.  The list of contacts is posted with this story at www.541radio.com.
