Educators can take an “EmPower Trip” this school year to learn how to design lesson plans that meet the needs of all learners.
A release from the Douglas Education Service District said the EmPower Trip Webinar series will focus on simple Universal Design for Learning strategies that considers upfront the diverse needs and preferences of all learners in any class. The release said the framework guides educators to consider multiple means of representation, engagement and action/expression. The goal of UD is to present alternative ways to access information, build skills and internalize learning to produce learners who know what they need and are able to advocate for their needs, to reach their goals, according to the release.
The EmPower Trip courses will take place the first and third Wednesdays of each month from 2:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. from September 18th through April 15th. Advance registration is not required.
