Congressman Peter DeFazio will hold a town hall meeting this Friday focused on health care.
DeFazio will discuss access to affordable care and the rising cost of prescription drugs at 2:00 p.m. in Centerstage Theatre at Umpqua Community College.
Part of the meeting will also be a discussion of DeFazio’s letter to the director of the VA Roseburg Healthcare System outlining DeFazio’s concern with the recent decision to accelerate the closure of the medical center’s Emergency Department and convert it to an urgent care clinic.
DeFazio is appearing at a series of events between this Wednesday and next Wednesday August 28^th. Other events will be in Florence, Springfield, Eugene, Brookings, North Bend and Coos Bay.
Congressman DeFazio will be on Inside Douglas County on Friday, on News Radio 1240 KQEN.
