Containment on the Milepost 97 Fire has reached 55% with no increase in acreage.
An update from the Oregon Department of Forestry said mop up operations will continue over the next several days.
All evacuation level notifications have been lifted in the fire area. Sergeant Brad O’Dell of the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office said residents should still take time to think and plan for evacuations should the time come when they need to do so.
The update said while forecasters are predicting calmer conditions, fire fighters can still expect temperatures and humidity to be hotter and drier than normal.
1,371 personnel are working on the Milepost 97 Fire which covers 13,119 acres. It was started by an illegal campfire in the evening of July 24th.
