The Douglas County Board of Commissioners have issued a proclamation to mark now through August 10th as Farmer’s Market Week, in conjunction with a national observance.
The release said the area is fortunate to have an abundance of locally grown fresh fruit, vegetables, meat, eggs, honey and more, available at farmer’s markets. Local farmer’s markets include:
*Glide Farmers’ Market on Tuesdays from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. May through October at the Glide Community Center.
*Canyonville Farmers’ Market on Wednesdays from 9:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. May through September in the south parking lot of Seven Feathers Casino. The market is held at the Javelin Ormond Community Center for the rest of the year.
*Lookingglass Grange Farmers’ Market on Thursdays from 2:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. April through December at the grange.
*Sutherlin Farmers’ Market on Fridays from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. May through October, across from Central Park at the corner of Willamette Street and Everett Avenue.
*Umpqua Valley Farmers’ Market on Saturdays from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at First United Methodist Church on West Harvard in Roseburg. Hours change to 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. from October to March.
