ONE LANE OF HARVARD NEAR RHS MAY BE CLOSED DUE TO ON-RAMP WORK

July 25, 2019 11:40 a.m.
One lane of westbound Harvard Avenue in front of Roseburg High School may be closed periodically as a contractor for the Oregon Department of Transportation makes some changes to the on-ramp from westbound Harvard to Interstate Five northbound.
Dan Latham of the Oregon Department of Transportation said many vehicles exceed the recommended speed when turning from Harvard onto that ramp. Latham said there have been some crashes because of this and it is currently not ideal for pedestrians, including kids, that are trying to use the crosswalk at the ramp. Latham said ODOT wants to see drivers slow down so the contractor is adjusting the curb on the east corner of the ramp.
