A sedan crashed into a ditch after the driver reportedly swerved to avoid a deer near Diamond Lake Sunday afternoon.
A report from Oregon State Police said at 1:00 p.m. a non-injury crash was called in by a passing motorist on Highway 230 near milepost 10 southbound. The report said the vehicle left the right-hand shoulder of the roadway, veered back across both lanes of travel, struck a tree and finally stopped after spinning 180 degrees around.
The report said the driver was not at the scene when the call came in but showed up later with a tow truck to assist. The driver, a 32-year old man from Massachusetts, was warned for failure to perform the duties of a driver in an accident and for failure to drive within a lane.
