UCHC OPENING NORTH DOUGLAS COUNTY CLINIC

July 3, 2019 3:25 a.m.
Umpqua Community Health Center is holding a ribbon cutting and open house for the public to commemorate the opening of its new North Douglas County Clinic.
A release from UCHC said the clinic is at 316 West A Avenue in Drain and the event will be held on Wednesday July 10th from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. After a short program, the public will be invited to tour the new clinic space, meet the staff, and enjoy light refreshments.
The clinic will officially open for patient visits on Friday July 12th. It will be open every Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. The release said the move is a “monumental step to bolster healthcare resources in an area the Oregon Office of Rural Health has deemed as having the greatest unmet need in the entire state”.
KC Bolton, CEO of UCHC said they are extremely excited to begin offering comprehensive clinic services to people in north county who “for far too long have been forced to endure long commutes to address their basic healthcare needs”. He said among the many priorities that the organization focuses on, “improving healthcare, particularly in north Douglas County where the need is so great, is right at the top”.
Services offered at the new clinic, the renovation of which was partly funded by a grant  from Umpqua Health Alliance, will include primary care for children of all ages and adults, immunizations, chronic care management, wellness exams, and sports physicals. The release said UCHC will add additional services as staffing allows and the demand for those services grows.
Families and individuals living in the towns of Drain, Elkton and Yoncalla, may schedule appointments at the new clinic by calling 459-3788.
