Roseburg Police arrested a man Friday following an early morning standoff.
RPD Public Information Officer Sergeant Daniel Allen said just before 4:30 a.m. officers were dispatched to a disturbance with a gun involving 60-year-old Larry Scott Haley Junior, in the 1100 block of Northeast Granite Ridge Street.
Allen said officers were assisted by deputies from the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office. Law enforcement contacted and removed an elderly man from the residence during this process. Allen said blood was seen inside the entrance to the front door and what appeared to be gunshot damage to an interior wall.
Neighboring residents were advised to shelter in place. Law enforcement deployed a robot into the residence and negotiated with Larry Haley until he exited the home at approximately 7:40 a.m.
Allen said no non-lethal or lethal weapons were discharged by law enforcement, and no one was injured. Haley had superficial scratches and cuts and was checked by medics. Haley was taken into custody and charged with domestic menacing, unlawful use of a weapon and recklessly endangering another person. Allen said there are no ongoing safety concerns to the public. A search warrant was later served at the residence.
RPD was also assisted by the Roseburg Fire Department and Umpqua Valley Ambulance.
