On Wednesday, Republican State Senator and candidate for U.S. Senate David Brock Smith released a statement following the results of the 2026 General Election for U.S. Senate in Oregon.

A campaign release said Senator Smith is deeply grateful to all his donors, supporters, and volunteers and will continue his work to make Oregon the best it can be.

Brock Smith said, “Last night, the voters of Oregon made their decision. While the result is not the one we hoped for, I want to begin by congratulating Senator Merkley on his reelection. I look forward to our continued work together for all Oregonians.”

Brock Smith thanked his campaign team, volunteers and financial supporters and said, “Your time, your energy, and your belief in a better path for Oregon made this campaign possible. From the bottom of my heart, thank you”
