Roseburg Schools is inviting families with children ages 2 to 4 to discover fun, engaging ways to support early literacy development through a series of free family literacy nights offered throughout the 2026-27 school year.
A release said the three themed events will give Roseburg-area families opportunities to explore early literacy through play, storytelling and hands-on activities. Each event will offer similar activities and resources that families can use at home to help young children build foundational skills for future learning.
The first event will be a Pancakes & Pajamas Literacy Night on Monday, November 16th from 4:30 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. in the Winchester Elementary School cafeteria. Registration is now open. The first 20 families to register and attend each event will receive a free interactive storybook.
The release said the literacy night series is part of Roseburg Schools’ ongoing efforts to strengthen early literacy development and help children build the skills they need to succeed in school. Families do not need to have children enrolled in Roseburg Schools to participate.
Other literacy nights will be held in February and April.
