A trooper with the Oregon State Police jailed a Sutherlin man for DUII early Friday.
An OSP report said at 3:00 a.m. a driving complaint came in regarding a pickup swerving in its lane and being driven at fluctuating speeds on Interstate 5 northbound near Roberts Mountain. The trooper was later advised that the vehicle had exited the freeway at the Milepost 120 interchange and headed north into Roseburg.
The trooper found the pickup near the intersection of Northeast Stephens Street and Northeast Jackson Street and observed the vehicle driving over the fog line. A traffic stop was initiated nearby, and the trooper contacted the driver in the parking lot of a business. Signs of impairment were observed, and the 21-year-old was arrested for driving under the influence of intoxicants. He was transported to corrections and was detained without bail. The man was released later in the day.
