Roseburg Police jailed a man Monday afternoon following a reported prior harassment incident.

An RPD report said on Sunday evening officers responded to the 1400 block of Northwest Veterans Way after a victim claimed the 20-year-old suspect had approached her unprovoked, screamed in her face, and grabbed her by the wrist, causing pain. The man had left the area, and officers were unable to locate him at that time.

Monday afternoon at 3:00 p.m. officers were dispatched to the same location for an unrelated call involving the man. While speaking to officers, he admitted to approaching the victim and grabbing her by the wrist. Officers went to detain the man, but he allegedly resisted before finally being taken into custody. He was charged with harassment and resisting arrest. Bail was set at $6,250.
