Roseburg Police jailed a man for a criminal count of prohibited camping on Wednesday.

An RPD report said at 10:30 a.m. officers contacted the 56-year-old at his camp at Riverside Park in the 500 block of Southeast Spruce Street. The camp was in violation of the city camping ordinance. The man had three prior convictions and was taken into custody without incident. His camp was cleaned up by a work crew. Bail was set at $5,000. The man was released later in the day.
