STATE POLICE JAIL MAN FOR DUII INCIDENT

A trooper with Oregon State Police jailed a man for a DUII incident on Wednesday evening.

An OSP report said just before 9:40 pm. a trooper observed a driver who had failed to signal a lane change near the intersection of Southeast Washington Avenue and West Madrone Street in Roseburg. The 56-year-old man was not wearing a seatbelt and had an expired registration. Upon contact, the driver refused to identify himself and was detained. The driver also reportedly had slurred speech and bloodshot eyes.

The man was charged with driving under the influence of intoxicants, reckless driving, driving while suspended, and failure to carry and present a license. The driver was detained without bail and his vehicle was towed from the scene.
