MINOR SLOWDOWNS CONTINUE ON I-5 SOUTH OF CANYONVILLE

September 17, 2026 3:30 a.m.

All the dead and dying trees damaged by the Milepost 97 Complex Fire in 2019 have been taken down along Interstate 5, ending the need for any more rolling slowdowns. However, there will be some cleanup operations over the next few days.

Dan Latham of the Oregon Department of Transportation said this means there will be some intermittent lane closures and shoulder closures through this Friday September 18th. Latham said there also may be some congestion through the work zone, but delays should be minimal.

These lane closures will be in both directions of I-5, affecting southbound traffic from milepost 103 to 95 and northbound traffic from milepost 87 to 95.
