Roseburg Police jailed a man following a reported theft incident on Tuesday.

An RPD report said just after 4:00 p.m. officers responded to a theft from a store in the 2100 block of Northwest Stewart Parkway. Officers located 33-year-old Christopher Kelsey as he was leaving the store and detained him. Kelsey admitted to stealing a bike innertube.

During an investigation, officers learned that the suspect had been previously trespassed from the store. His parole officer requested that he be detained for committing a new crime. Kelsey was charged with third-degree theft, first-degree criminal trespass and for a parole violation. Bail was set at $3,500.
