Douglas County’s Community Organizations Active in Disaster will host a Disaster Preparedness Fair this Saturday, September 19th from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. at the Douglas County Fairgrounds.

The free-family friendly event offers an opportunity to learn about local disaster preparedness while enjoying games, giveaways and prizes. That includes Shaky Grounds Café, a fun, adventure-based mobile game where attendees can practice hands on skills in a post-quake world.

The fair will include information on feeding families, emergency communications, shelter plans, fire preparedness, and training that is available.

Admission is free but organizers asked participants to bring a canned food donation to support the local food pantry.
