The Umpqua Valley will see cooler weather heading into the weekend with the chance of rain on Saturday.
Forecasters at the National Weather Service in Medford told News Radio 93-9 FM and 1240 KQEN that Friday will remain dry with highs dropping to the mid-70s as high pressure weakens. A low-pressure system is expected to move into the area on Saturday with rain and the potential for thunderstorms in the forecast. Highs will only be in the upper 60s. By Sunday conditions should dry out with sunshine and a high of around 70 degrees.
The mercury reached 89 degrees on Thursday at the Roseburg Regional Airport.
