A Cottage Grove man was jailed following a freeway crash on Interstate Five on Sunday night.

An Oregon State Police report said at 11:55 p.m. a trooper was dispatched to the wreck in the northbound lanes of the freeway, just north of Sutherlin. The first vehicle struck the rear of the second vehicle which was in the righthand lane. The driver who caused the accident fled the vehicle on foot and was apprehended shortly after. He showed signs of impairment and was charged with driving under the influence of intoxicants, reckless driving and failure to perform the duties of a driver when property damage was involved. 36-year-old Cody Price was detained without bail.

No one was injured in the crash. The first vehicle was impounded while the second vehicle was towed, due to damage.
