Eugene Police arrested a woman Wednesday afternoon after she was reportedly seen drinking a box of wine in a grocery store parking lot for approximately four hours.

An EPD report said police were called just before 1:30 p.m. to a store in the 3000 block of Hilyard Street.

As an officer arrived on scene, the woman, later identified as a 66-year-old from Eugene, was seen backing her vehicle out of the parking spot. The officer pulled in behind her and approached the vehicle, which smelled strongly of alcohol.

The woman was given a field sobriety test and was ultimately arrested for driving under the influence of intoxicants. Her blood alcohol content was measured at 0.18 percent, more than twice the legal limit for driving a vehicle.
