The National Federation of Independent Business Fed PAC, the nation’s leading small business advocacy organization, has announced its endorsement of Monique DeSpain, the Republican candidate for Congress in Oregon’s 4th District.

A release from the federation said the endorsement issued through NFIB’s Fed PAC follows the organization’s member-driven evaluation process and reflects NFIB’s assessment that DeSpain will be a reliable ally for small business owners in Congress.

NFIB Oregon State Director Anthony Smith said, “Monique DeSpain is a political outsider, a veteran, and an advocate for small businesses. She supports reducing regulatory burdens on Main Street and getting government out of the way so that Oregonians can own, operate, and grow their businesses.” Smith said, “She will make for a great member of Congress, and we are proud to stand behind her once again in this election cycle.”

DeSpain, a retired U.S. Air Force Colonel and attorney said, “Small business owners in this district are being squeezed from every direction from rising costs, mounting regulations, and taxes that make it harder to hire and harder to grow, reward loyal employees, and hire additional people.” DeSpain said, “I’m honored to have NFIB’s support again this cycle. I’ve spent this campaign listening to employers across our district, and I’m going to keep fighting in Congress to get the government out of their way so they can do what they do best: create jobs and opportunity for Oregon families.”

The release said NFIB represents small and independent businesses in all 50 state capitals. NFIB’s FedPAC endorsements are funded through voluntary member contributions separate from membership dues.
