The OSU Extension Forestry and Natural Resources Program invites the community to learn the fundamentals of pruning young shade trees at the Structural Pruning Clinic for Small Urban Trees, set for October 17
This class will cover why pruning matters, when to prune, how to identify common structural issues, and the techniques used to develop healthy, strong, and resilient trees. Attendees will learn about proper pruning cuts, tool use, and safety practices to help shade tree owners become more confident in decision making when it comes to their trees.
A release from Extension said this workshop is perfect for property owners with landscaping trees or those working in urban forestry. The workshop is $5 per person and will be held at the Douglas County OSU Extension building. Registration is required and closes October 15, 2026.
