A Glendale woman was jailed on theft charges by the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office on Monday.
A DCSO report said on July 7th, 49-year-old Amanda Gilmore allegedly stole nine puppies from the front yard of a residence in the 100 block of Petite Street in Myrtle Creek. On Monday, a friend of the victim arranged a fake purchase with Gilmore in an effort to recover the puppies. Deputies contacted Gilmore at a business in Myrtle Creek and recovered six of the puppies and returned them to the victim.
During the operation, a deputy observed a 51-year-old man driving a pickup and later learned the man was criminally suspended. The deputy confirmed that the man is a protected person in an active restraining order against Gilmore.
Gilmore was charged with 10 counts of first-degree theft, second-degree criminal trespass and a parole violation. She was detained without bail just after 2:45 p.m.
