The Coos Forest Protective Association increased the fire danger on lands it protects to High, effective on Monday.

Lands affected include state, private, county, unincorporated towns, and Bureau of Land Management forestlands in Coos, Curry and western Douglas County.

These public use restrictions have been adjusted:

*Campfires, cooking fires, warming fires and other open fires are only allowed at designated, hosted and managed campgrounds

These activities are now allowed only before 10:00 a.m. or after 8:00 p.m.:

*Non-industrial power saw use

*Cutting, grinding or welding of metal

*Mowing dried, cured grass

*Any other spark emitting internal combustion engines not previously mentioned

All other public fire restrictions will remain in effect.
