Abby’s Legendary Pizza is celebrating the completion of an extensive remodel and upgrade of its original Roseburg Parlor on Northeast Stephens Street, including the return of its iconic neon parking lot sign.

The three-day event will be from Monday through Wednesday with special events and discounts.

A company release said the renovation was designed to preserve the important history of Abby’s original parlor, while creating a refreshed gathering place for future generations of guests. The parlor now features a Douglas County history wall, a Roseburg mural, and tributes to championship athletic teams from Roseburg High School and Umpqua Community College. There are new interior finishes throughout and the return of Abby’s salad bar.

Abby’s President Mike Hudspeth said, “When we found the original neon sign that welcomed guests to our Stephens Street parlor for decades, we knew we had to bring it back”. Hudspeth said, “Restoring this piece of Roseburg history was an important part of the remodel and we’re proud that it will once again welcome families to Abby’s for generations to come”.

The festivities will begin on Monday at 4:00 p.m. when the Roseburg Area Chamber of Commerce hosts an official ribbon cutting ceremony. That evening will be a special fundraiser benefitting Umpqua United Soccer Club and the hundreds of local children who participate in their programs.

The three-day event continues Tuesday with Doc Stewarts baseball player autographs. On Wednesday, animals from Wildlife Safari will be on site, along with Abby’s founders Abby, Connie and Bob.

The public is invited to attend all three days and Abby’s Community Celebration and help celebrate the exact place where the Abby’s story began in 1964.
