COOS FOREST PROTECTIVE ASSOCIATION DEALS WITH FIRST FIRE OF SEASON

Crews with the Coos Forest Protective Association are dealing with the first fire of their fire season.

Brett Weidemiller of CFPA said early Monday morning crews responded to the Half Moon Bay Fire approximately one mile south of Winchester Bay. Weidemiller said crews were engaged on the fire by approximately 6:00 a.m. Forward spread of the approximately half-acre fire was stopped by mid-morning and trailing the fire was in progress. No structures are threatened by the fire. The cause of the Half Moon Bay Fire is under investigation.
