0.99 PERCENT/896 BALLOTS TURNED IN FOR COUNTY PRIMARY ELECTION

May 5, 2026 4:00 a.m.

0.99 percent, or 896 local ballots, have been received for the 2026 Douglas County May Primary Election as of late Monday afternoon.

County Clerk Daniel Loomis said that is 0.40 percent ahead of the participation rate for the same point in the previous 2022 May Primary Election. Loomis said the number of county voters has increased by 2.56 percent, or 2,260 voters, since the last Primary Election.

Loomis said voters can use either the U.S. Postal Service or any of the fifteen official ballot drop sites to return their ballot. A list of the local locations is posted at: https://www.douglascountyor.gov/179/Official-Drop-Site-Locations. Eight of those are drive-up locations.

Loomis said voters should be sure to review and complete both sides of the ballot and sign their voter statement on the ballot return envelope.

Ballots must be cast no later than 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 19th.
