SAVING GRACE PRESENTS BARKS & RECREATION EVENT

Saving Grace Humane Society will have Barks & Recreation happening on Saturday, May 16th from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at Stewart Park in Roseburg.

This dog-friendly and family-friendly event brings together pets and people for a day of connection, fun, and support for local shelter programs and services. All friendly, on leash dogs are welcome.

Saving Grace Development and Communications Manager Cyn Demers said, “Events like Barks & Recreation are a reminder of how strong and compassionate this community is”. Demers said, “It’s a day where people come together not just to have fun with their pets, but to support one another and the work we do for animals in need. There’s something really special about seeing that shared love for animals bring so many people into one space and we hope to see you there”.

Presented with support from the First Community Credit Union and other local partners, Barks & Recreation offers a wide variety of activities for all ages. Barks & Recreation offers a wide variety of activities for all ages. Attendees can explore over 30 pet-friendly vendors, enjoy food trucks and a wine and beer garden, participate in dog contests and activities, and access reduced-cost vaccines and microchips for dogs. Saving Grace will also have adoptable dogs on-site for those interested in welcoming a new companion.

The Alumni Walk will begin at 12:00 p.m. where dogs adopted from Saving Grace are invited to return and celebrate alongside their families. Dog contests will follow from 12:30 p.m. to 2:00 p.m.
