There is a slight chance of moisture starting Friday night in the Umpqua Valley while Sunday is forecast to be the hottest day of the year so far for 2026.

Forecasters at the National Weather Service in Medford told News Radio 93-9 FM and 1240 KQEN that the potential for showers or thundershowers will be hit or miss over the weekend. A low-pressure system southwest of the region will keep temperatures cooler on Friday and Saturday but high pressure to the north will lead to highs in the low 80s on Sunday.

Monday will cool to around 70 before highs return to the mid to upper 70s Tuesday through next Friday.

The mercury reached 79 degrees Thursday at the Roseburg Regional Airport. 67 degrees is the normal high for this week.
