The northwest section of the paved path at Ford’s Pond west of Sutherlin is closed Tuesday and Wednesday.

A Friends of Ford’s Pond post said a crew is applying herbicides as part of a prairie restoration project. The remainder of the pond loop trail remains open. The goal of this project is to reduce the abundance of noxious weeds and restore native wildflowers like bicolor lupine and blue-eyed grass.
