VICTIMS IDENTIFIED IN FATAL HOUSE FIRE AS HOMICIDE INVESTIGATION CONTINUES

The victims of a fatal house fire in Reedsport on Thursday night have been identified, as the homicide investigation continues.

A Douglas County Sheriff’s Office report said the victims are 65-year-old Bodie Bren Dye and 67-year-old Gregory Scott Henning, both of Reedsport. Next of kin notifications have been made.

41-year-old Pamela Anne Westfall of Reedsport admitted to intentionally starting the fire at a residence in the 27000 block of Lower Smith River Road, northeast of Reedsport. She was taken into custody at the scene of the fire. Additional charges against Westfall have been added. She is now charged with two counts of first-degree murder, two counts of second-degree murder, attempting to commit murder, first-degree arson, and for both parole and probation violations. The second-degree murder counts alleges that both deaths took place in the course of arson being committed.

The Douglas County Major Crimes Team continues their investigation but has not provided any additional updates.
