DEADLINE TO REGISTER FOR MAY PRIMARY IS APPROACHING

The May 2026 Primary Election is coming soon and there are a number of dates that voters should be aware of.

Douglas County Clerk Daniel Loomis said the deadline to register to vote as a new Oregon voter or to change political party affiliation is April 28th.

Loomis said out-of-state ballots are being mailed Tuesday, with the bulk mailing of ballots taking place on April 29th. May 12th is the last day ballots can be mailed to voters. After that date, replacement ballots have to be picked up at the County Elections Office at the courthouse.

May 19th is Election Day and the office Elections Office will be open from 7:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Preliminary unofficial results will be released that evening. May 26th is the deadline to accept that ballots that were postmarked by May 19th.

Final unofficial results are released on May 27th. The Election certification period is June 10th through 15th. That is when the official certified results are released.
