Thrive Umpqua and the Umpqua Velo Club will offer a smart cycling class to build confidence in bicyclists in Douglas County.
The class is designed to give riders the knowledge and skills they need to become a defensive, smart, confident rider.
This is a 2-day class from the League of American Bicyclists run by league certified instructors Martin Fink and Janelle James. The curriculum starts with a classroom portion that will be held at the Thive Umpqua offices on Southeast Jackson Street in downtown Roseburg on Thursday, April 30th and will be picked back up on Saturday morning, May 2nd.
Register on the League of American website Bicyclists website for $30: Participants will get a $25 gift card after completing both days of the class. Signing up ahead of time will help instructors plan and will give those interested a spot in the course.
Thursday’s class will run from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. The Saturday on-bike portion starts at 9:00 a.m. and will end by 2:00 p.m. The location for Saturday’s course will be announced during the first class.
