The Earth Day and Energy Fair is happening on Saturday in downtown Roseburg.
Presented by Umpqua Watersheds and a number of partner organizations, the event is billed as a day of discovery, innovation, and connection. Information sessions will be presented throughout the day with topics like:
*Renewable energy and climate solutions
*Biochar: From forest waste to climate solution
*How food choices affect the world
*Sprouts and smiles: gardening with kids
*Native plant landscaping
*Crater Lake wilderness proposal
*Bee Keeping
Other topics will be covered as well. The Earth Day and Energy Fair will be held in the 500 block of Southeast Main Street from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
Other organizations involved in the event include Thrive Umpqua, Douglas County Global Warming Coalition, Food as Medicine, Umpqua Valley Farm to School and Umpqua Valley Public Defender.
