ROSEBURG POLICE DETAIN MAN FOR WARRANT, LITTERING

Roseburg Police detained a man for a warrant and littering on Monday.

An RPD report said at 10:50 a.m. the 45-year-old was contacted at his camp in the 2100 block of Northwest Aviation Drive, just north of the Roseburg Regional Airport. Camping is never allowed at this location.

The man was reportedly in possession of an axe and a whip, which are both prohibited items on city property. Additionally, he had trash scattered around his camp site. A records check revealed there was a warrant for his arrest for unlawful possession of methamphetamine. The man was arrested on the warrant and the littering charge. He was cited for prohibited camping and two charges of having prohibited weapons and tools on city real property. The man was detained on $3,750 bail. He was released later on Monday.
