Roseburg Police jailed a man for a reported theft incident on Monday.

An RPD report said shortly after 8:00 a.m. a victim responded to the Bottle Drop in the 700 block of Northeast Garden Valley Boulevard after he had a theft of cans from his home the past two days. While at the location, the victim found 44-year-old Jered Scott at the business with several of his bags of cans. Scott was also the same individual the victim had reportedly seen on his surveillance footage.

The victim claimed the same man had also taken cans from his home in February. Scott admitted to stealing four bags of cans from the victim on three separate occasions. Each time, he admitted to cashing in the cans at Bottle Drop for cash. Scott was charged three counts each of first-degree theft, third-degree theft and criminal mischief. He was detained without bail.
