Roseburg Police jailed a woman following an alleged assault incident on Thursday afternoon.

An RPD report said at 1:00 p.m. the 50-year-old allegedly attacked a victim while he was driving in the 2500 block of Northeast Stephens Street. The victim reportedly had to bite the woman’s hand to prevent her from scratching his face. The victim had multiple scratches on his face and neck.

The suspect admitted to hitting the victim but claimed that he hit her first. There were no marks on the woman. She was charged with fourth-degree assault and recklessly endangering another person. Bail was set at $6,250.
