April 9, 2026 5:30 a.m.

Roseburg had a near record high temperature for the date on Wednesday, but conditions are quickly changing.

Forecasters at the National Weather Service in Medford told News Radio 93-9 FM and 1240 KQEN that the mercury reached 77 degrees at the Roseburg Regional Airport. The record high for April 8th is 78 degrees, set in 1959.

A low-pressure system moving in from the coast of California is bringing widespread rain and thunderstorms to the region for the next few days. Forecasters said Roseburg could see a half inch of rain on Thursday. Afternoon highs will begin to gradually cool on Friday, getting to below normal temperatures for the weekend as the wet weather continues.
